Adroit Annual Charity Golf Day a huge success
Annual Adroit Charity Golf Day raises $97,000 for Geelong community
Geelong region businesses were out in full force for the recent 20th Adroit Insurance & Risk Charity Golf Day, joining MC Nicky Buckley in raising more than $97,000 for a worthy local cause.
150 players hit the stunning 13th Beach Golf Links course at Barwon Heads to battle it out for the prestigious Adroit Charity Golf Day Cup, with Blood Group and Minerva Financial Group taking out the honours.
Adroit Managing Principal, John Leavey said that the benefits from the funds raised would be far-reaching thanks to the great work of the grant recipient The Power In You Project, and also through the support of the Geelong Community Foundation.
“I would like to thank all the businesses and organisations who have supported the day and enabled us to reach such an outstanding result,” he said.
“A total of $97,000 overall was raised at the event, thanks in large part to Will Ainsworth and Michael De Stefano from Gartland Real Estate who auctioned off an array of attractive items.
We are thrilled to be able to award $75,000 to The Power In You Project which will fund the refurbishment of its shed and provide an important space for its community programs.” The balance of the sum raised goes to the Adroit Golf Day Sub Fund in the Geelong Community Foundation, which in turn supports many other local community programs.
The Power In You Project is a Geelong organisation helping people affected by addiction, mental health or justice related challenges, in taking back control of their lives by reducing or removing negative influences, inspiring hope, increasing self-worth and helping to establish meaningful connections.
The Power In You Project founder Kane Nuttall, said that when complete, the refurbished shed will offer an inclusive space for program participants to work on their personal challenges and to become positive, contributing members of the community.
“We are so grateful to be the recipient of the $75,000 capital grant which will help to transform our shed into an incredible new space for our participants and allow us to continue to have a positive impact on the Geelong community,” he said.
“We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the support of businesses like Adroit, who are really setting the benchmark in our region. It’s also a truly great day out amongst many of Geelong’s industry and community leaders, and we are just so thankful to be part of it.”
