Corless Family Fund
Ed(gar) Corless was born in Richmond Victoria and completed his secondary education at Melbourne Grammar School. He worked for the National Australia Bank for 13 years throughout Victoria, with a final placement in Tasmania.
Win(some) was born in Clunes Victoria and educated at Maryborough High School, after which she began work as a trainee teacher, nursing assistant, and then a telephonist at the Clunes telephone exchange.
After their marriage Ed and Win moved to New Norfolk Tasmania, where their first two children were born. Following their return to Victoria they settled at Ocean Grove where their family was completed with two more children. Ed and Win shared the management of a hardware store. In the following years they built a supermarket premises, established a plant nursery, Wildlife Park, cake shop, liquor stores health food store and another hardware store.
Wallington Rural and Garden Supplies, the Kingston residential estate in Ocean Grove, and Ocean Grove Real Estate are the current focus of the family companies.
Ed and Win were members of service organisations throughout their adult lives. Most recently, they were passionate members of the Lions Club of Ocean Grove and now their Companies are active supporters of the Men`s Shed. Having lived in the local community for decades, Ed and Win decided to establish their family fund to “give something back” to the community. Despite the recent passing of Ed, his family have determined that his legacy of supporting his community will continue.
