Dowling Family Fund

Michael and Lynne have contributed to many charitable and community organisations over the past 40 years. Lynne taught in Geelong schools and then practiced as a psychologist. Michael practiced as a Chartered Accountant with Day Neilson, where he was a partner for nearly 20 years. Subsequently, he has been Chairman of both GMHBA Limited and the Victorian Regional Channels Authority and is currently actively involved in a number of significant agricultural and agribusiness enterprises.

Over the past 40 years, Michael has devoted much of his time to local organisations including the Geelong Gallery, the Geelong Chamber of Commerce, St Mary of the Angels Parish, The Geelong College, St John of God Hospital, Karingal Inc (now GenU), Deakin University, Samaritan House Geelong and Marcus Oldham College.

In 2017, Michael was appointed as a Member of The Order of Australia (AM) for his “significant service to the community of Geelong through leadership with a range of social welfare, business and education organisations”.

Michael and Lynne hope that by making a contribution to the Geelong Community Foundation, they can assist many existing organisations with their programs and that worthwhile new initiatives can be undertaken to improve and enrich the Geelong community.
