Muirfield decided to establish their Fund in the Geelong Community Foundation to facilitate their support for the local community through philanthropic contributions each year. Rather than sending donations into other geographic areas, MFS chose to focus heavily on supporting the local region. This approach enables MFS to give back to the community that has supported the business so well.
Muirfield has always focused on providing support to those in need. One of the ways they do this is via their annual movie night. Each year, attendees are asked for a gold coin donation which is then matched by Muirfield to provide a meaningful donation each year to the MFS fund. On top of this, Muirfield arranges an annual matching week where every $500 donation to the P500 fund is matched by Muirfield, effectively doubling any donations received.
The MFS Named Sub Fund has proven to be a great way for the business and its staff to be involved in supporting the Geelong community.
