All gifts become part of the Trust Fund of the Geelong Community Foundation Fund, the Geelong Community Open Fund or the Geelong Community Foundation Education Scholarship Fund and do not form a separate fund.
A management account (also referred to as a Sub Fund) will be maintained by the Trustee for the recording of gifts from the Donor and others.

The visit offered a hands-on look at how local donor generosity is helping transform unused school land into thriving gardens that feed and connect the community.

From walking through remnant bushland and meeting student trainees, to potting seedlings and sharing a farm-grown lunch — it was generosity in action.

Facilitators Joss and Isabel led an engaging and empowering foundations session to a packed auditorium of Year 7 and 8 students, helping them explore consent, communication and respectful relationships in such a thoughtful and relatable way.

Today, we share a message of both gratitude and change, as we farewell and thank Tony McManus for his seven years of dedicated service to the Geelong Community Foundation.

As part of our continued growth under the Foundation’s Strategic Plan 2025–28, we’re making changes to ensure the organisation is best positioned to deliver on its long-term goals and deepen our impact across the region.

This includes the introduction of a new, senior Philanthropy Manager role — designed to strengthen partnerships, enhance donor engagement, and help deliver on our shared vision for lasting community change. As part of this transition, the Development Manager role will no longer form part of the Foundation’s structure.

Tony has played an instrumental role in growing our donor base, building meaningful connections, and championing local philanthropy. We are deeply grateful for his contributions over his time with the Foundation and his dedication to our community .

He leaves with our very best wishes as he takes time with family and continues his inspiring advocacy in mental health, including his work as an R U OK? Community Ambassador.
