We’re proud that a grant from the Foundation is supporting members of the Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club to participate in coach and assessor training.

This enables the club to deliver their junior programs and foster a new generation of skilled lifesavers for our region.

We are absolutely thrilled for The Empowerment Cha

We are absolutely thrilled for The Empowerment Challenge, who have just picked up their new 8-seater van 🚐

The vehicle will allow staff to collect younger mums who otherwise wouldn’t be able to make it into mum’s groups to connect, to ferry these young women to appointments and in some cases, exit them from unsafe environments and transport them to safety.

We are proud that this was achievable due to the Adroit Insurance & Risk grant the organisation has received, with our support, and we look forward to seeing the vehicle getting around town with the logos of The Empowerment Challenge, Adroit and Geelong Community Foundation.

We hear that they are now looking for a name for the van so if you’d like to get involved and submit an idea, head on over to The Empowerment Challenge page 🫶

The Geelong Community Foundation is pleased to announce that we have opened applications for our 2025/26 Main Grant Round!
This year the Foundation will distribute more than $1.6m in grants, approximately $1 million is available in this grant round.

Applications will be accepted for activities that align with the Foundation’s four grant streams:

🍉 Food and Emergency Support
👩‍⚕️Health, Resilience and Connection
💻Education and Employment; and
🪴Environment and Sustainability

Activities must be delivered within City of Greater Geelong, Borough of Queenscliffe, Surf Coast Shire Council or Golden Plains Shire.

Applications can be submitted for grants between $1,000 and $100,000, over a 1–3-year period.

Last week, the Making Waves Foundation celebrated

Last week, the Making Waves Foundation celebrated the launch of ‘Sticky Beak’, its first Rainbow dinghy built outside of Sydney at Geelong Western Beach Boat Club ⛵️

This incredible milestone is a testament to the fantastic teamwork of Making Waves’ participants and volunteers, whose hard work has truly paid off, and our Program & Impact Manager Charlotte Walker was there to witness the magic.

We are proud to support Making Waves Foundation and the incredible work it is doing is providing opportunities for young people and at-risk youth.
