Adroit Golf Day Capital Grant
2019 Adroit Golf Day Capital Grant Applications are now open (close 1 July)
Adroit Insurance & Risk will host its 18th Annual Charity Golf Day at 13th Beach Golf Links, Barwon Heads on 21st November 2019. Since its inception, the event has grown to one of the largest in the Geelong fundraising calendar, raising over $1 million for local causes.
Adroit has enjoyed a long-term relationship with the Geelong Community Foundation, including as community partner of the Adroit Charity Golf Day. In this role the Foundation has supported Adroit to distribute funds raised to worthy local causes, for example $90,000 of the $100,000 raised in 2018 was provided to Kids Plus Foundation to support the development of their outdoor therapy and play space at their new home in Waurn Ponds that will open in 2020. $10,000 was provided to Encompass Community Services to develop the business case for the transition of clients to independent living. In 2017 $100,000 was provided to Bethany to support the development of the Men’s Family Violence Intervention Centre. $61,000 of the $100,000 total raised in 2016 was donated to Barwon Child Youth & Family (BCYF) to fund the refurbishment of the Street Surfer Bus.
In previous years funds have been donated to projects such as the development of the St Laurence Sensory Garden Project, Karingal Life Long Learning & Education room and St John of God Hospital. The funds raised from this charity event have supported many projects and will have far reaching benefits in our community for many years to come.
The establishment of the $100,000 Adroit Golf Day Capital Grant Program has provided a new significant grant opportunity for community organisations. The Foundation will offer the Adroit Golf Day Capital Grant to community organisations based on a number of requirements.
The 2019 Adroit Golf Day Grant Agreement form should be reviewed before completing this application. The Adroit Golf Day Capital Grant Program will receive applications for a $100,000 grant. Note, there is one grant of $100,000 available.

2017 Adroit Golf Day Capital Grant awarded to Bethany Community Support
Adroit Insurance Group and the Geelong Community Foundation are proud to announce that the recipient of the inaugural $100,000 Adroit Golf Day Capital Grant is Bethany Community Support. The grant will be derived from the proceeds of the 2017 Adroit Insurance Group Charity Golf Day.
Bethany was established in Geelong in 1868, and is a leading provider of support services to local women, men, children and families. Bethany’s broad range of programs includes specialist family violence services for women, children and men.
We are excited to be supporting Bethany through this grant to assist in the development of a Men’s Centre in Geelong. The Centre will play an important role in addressing the issue of family violence in our community. Sadly, in the City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire and Golden Plains Shire regions the prevalence of reported cases of family violence has risen by 71% over the past five years.
The Men’s Centre will provide a wholistic response to the issue, by providing a suite of services for local men – both in the prevention and response to – family violence. Bethany have a bold vision for a service informed by cutting edge research, which will provide men the opportunity to access services ranging from Men’s Behaviour Change programs to counselling, GP services, fathering programs and mental health assessment.
“Bethany Community Support is incredibly grateful to Adroit Insurance Group and Geelong Community Foundation for their support. This is a highly innovative project which will provide ongoing benefits to the local community including employment and training opportunities, as well as, contributing to a reduction in incidences of family violence.” – Grant Boyd, CEO Bethany Community Support
