Melinda Planken

Joined the Board in May 2025.

Melinda is the Managing Director of Muirfield Financial Services, a Certified Financial Planner, and an Accredited Aged Care Specialist. She holds both an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University.

Since joining Muirfield in 2007, Melinda worked closely with founder Hayden Torney, playing a key role in ensuring a smooth transition of leadership following Hayden’s retirement in 2018. Under her guidance, the continued success of Muirfield Financial Services reflects her commitment to educating clients, strong leadership and passion in the support she provides to a dynamic and expanding team.

Melinda has been actively involved in the Geelong Community Foundation’s Philanthropy 500 Committee, having contributed to its launch in 2016 and early years and recently rejoining the committee in 2025. She is a strong advocate for the vital role that charitable giving plays in strengthening the local Geelong community.

Outside of work, Melinda enjoys travelling and creating lasting memories with her husband and young son. She is passionate about educating and empowering the community on financial matters and believes in making finance simple.
