Driving Community Impact: 2025 Adroit Charity Golf Day Raises $100,000

Gcf Adroitgolfday2025-43

The sun, the coastal breeze and a spirit of generosity were all out in full force on Thursday 20 November 2025, as nearly 200 golfers gathered at 13th Beach Golf Links for the 22nd Annual Adroit Charity Golf Day. This much-loved event has become a highlight on the Geelong fundraising calendar, uniting businesses, community groups and individuals for a vibrant day of connection and collective impact.

Hosted in partnership with the Geelong Community Foundation, this year’s event achieved an extraordinary philanthropic milestone: $100,000 raised in a single day.

Of this total, $75,000 has been awarded to Cultura through the 2025 Adroit Golf Day Capital Grant, supporting their Renewed Connection Project. The remaining $25,000 has been contributed to the Adroit Charity Golf Day Sub-Fund, helping grow the long-term impact of this flagship community event.

Supporting Cultura’s Work With Newly Arrived Communities

Cultura — whose purpose is to support, care for, and celebrate culturally diverse individuals throughout their life journey— plays a vital role supporting refugees, migrants and people seeking asylum across Geelong.

Funding from the golf day will enable Cultura’s Renewed Connection Project, delivering a much-needed upgrade to their IT hub. This includes 15 new desktop computers, five laptops, AV equipment and essential software — essential tools that support education, employment readiness, digital literacy and community connection for people who often arrive with limited access to technology.

This project beautifully reflects the purpose of the Adroit Charity Golf Day: strengthening organisations who strengthen our community.

A Fantastic Day On and Off the Course

The event kicked off with a warm welcome lunch at 13th Beach Golf Links before golfers headed out for a shotgun start across the Beach and Creek courses. Despite the trademark coastal breeze adding a layer of challenge, the camaraderie, good humour and friendly rivalry kept spirits high throughout the afternoon.

Players later returned to the clubhouse for pre-dinner drinks before settling in for a beautiful evening meal and formal proceedings. The program, hosted by K-Rock’s Tom King, featured remarks from our CEO Amy Waters, a presentation from Cultura, and a lively raffle and live auction led by Mitch Falzon from The Geelong Agency.

The night concluded with the announcement of the 2025 Golf Day award winners, recognising strong performances across both courses:

  • Beach Course – Winners: Team Chase
Matthew Brown, Shaun O’Brien, Steve Ord, Charlie Westcott
  • Beach Course – Runners Up: Team 360 Underwriting / Pacific Indemnity
Megan Duckworth, Daniel Arms, Steve Duckworth, David Hamilton
  • Creek Course – Winners: Team Lake & Land
Anthony Webber, Cruz Strange, John Wentworth, Ricky Hung
  • Creek Course – Runners Up: Team QBE Insurance
Ben Hanley, Lexie Finnin, Tim O’Brien, Chris Bennett

Team Chase (Matthew Brown, Shaun O’Brien, Steve Ord, Charlie Westcott) was awarded the overall 22nd Annual Adroit Charity Golf Day Winner.

These results, combined with generous bidding, a packed field of golfers and widespread community support, helped drive the remarkable $100,000 fundraising outcome.

Collective Giving Gratitude

What makes the Adroit Charity Golf Day truly special is the collective generosity behind it. This year’s wonderful result was made possible thanks to the almost 200 golfers who took part, generous sponsorships from the insurance industry, the local organisations who donated prizes, merchandise, auction items, hospitality and services, and the many volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring the day to life.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to Austin’s Wines for supplying the wonderful wines enjoyed throughout the day, and to the many community partners whose contributions added so much to the experience and helped make the event a success.

Above all, we acknowledge Adroit Insurance & Risk for their leadership, commitment and enduring partnership. Their dedication to creating local impact is the driving force behind this event’s success year after year, and we are proud to work alongside them in strengthening our community.

To every golfer, donor, partner, volunteer and supporter — thank you. Your generosity is helping create a connected, fair and thriving Geelong community now, and for future generations to come.
