Launch of $100,000 Geelong Community Foundation Adroit Golf Day Capital Grant
A new community organisation grant opportunity has been developed by the Geelong Community Foundation and Adroit Insurance Group. The $100,000 capital grant will make a significant difference to a Geelong region community organisation in 2017.
The grant will be derived from the proceeds of the annual Adroit Insurance Group Charity Golf Day which will be held at 13th Beach Golf Links on the 23rd November 2017. Since its inception, the Golf Day has grown to one of the largest in the Geelong fundraising calendar, raising over $900,000 for local causes.
The establishment of the Geelong Community Foundation Adroit Golf Day Grant will provide a new transformative grant opportunity for community organisations. Applications will be open to organisations based in or providing services in the Geelong region.
In announcing the grant opportunity, Andrew Locke, Managing Director of Adroit Insurance Group highlighted examples of how this grant will make a difference within our community.
“The grant will provide physical infrastructure for an organisation such as the acquisition, construction or renovation of a building, purchase of equipment, furniture and fitting, purchase of vehicles or computer hardware and software and its installation.”
Applications can include support for more than one project up to the value of $100,000, providing broad scope for organisations.
Gail Rodgers, Chief Executive Officer of the Geelong Community Foundation, believes the grant opportunity demonstrates the result of the strong, proactive partnership between the Foundation and Adroit Insurance Group.
“The Adroit Insurance Group Golf Day Grant is another example of the strong leadership shown by Adroit in supporting our community. Adroit also provides office space and support for the Foundation at its Moorabool Street premises and financial support through the Adroit Insurance Group Fund and the Adroit Golf Day Fund. Both funds add to, and support, the existing Foundation corpus of over $20 million.”
The $100,000 capital grant will add to the $6.8 million in grants that the Foundation has provided to community organisations since 2001.
Applications will open on Tuesday 9th May and close on Friday 7th July. The successful grant recipient will be announced at the end of July. The Foundation Grants Committee and Adroit Insurance Group staff will review all applications and identify the successful recipient based on clear identification of the impact that the project will make within our community.
