M & J Donnellan Estate

Leaving a gift in your will is a meaningful way for the Geelong Community Foundation to build a long-term, reliable funding stream for the future wellbeing of our region.

We would like to acknowledge the generosity of the late Marie and Joan Donnellan’s recent bequest, which will ensure their legacy lives on in our community.

Educated at Sacred Heart College, sisters Marie and Joan Donnellan lived and worked in Geelong for nearly their entire lives. For many years, Marie worked as Private Secretary to the Headmaster of Geelong Grammar School. In 2000, she passed away aged 80 at Geelong Hospital. Joan worked in public relations for companies such as Massey Ferguson, Target and Ford. In 2021, she passed away aged 99 at Calvary Balmoral Grove Aged Care. Marie and Joan were passionate about travel, and loved their dogs.

It was their wish to leave a $100,000 gift in their will to the Geelong Community Foundation, which will help support the region where they spent the majority of their lives.
